About Inclusion And Co-Teaching

Ensuring All Students Can Reach their Learning Potential

With an effectively implemented co-teaching inclusion model, schools have the power to ensure they are maximizing learning for all students. Catalyst for Educational Change (CEC) partners with schools and districts to follow a unique pathway and is guided by six core values of capacity building, labor-management collaboration, partnerships, accountability, continuous improvement, and research-based effectiveness.

Building the Structure

Through Embedded Coaching Visits, Pair Debrief Sessions, and Co-Teaching Teacher Training, CEC works closely with educators to build shared knowledge and understanding around best practices, address critical conversations for teaching partnerships, and review foundational concepts of the co-teaching models.

Laying the Foundation

Through workshops, CEC works with SPED Directors and Coordinators to build shared knowledge and understanding around best practices for implementation, develop a standardized training for co-teaching pairs, and review foundational concepts for coaching and supporting program implementation. CEC also provides professional development sessions for leaders to understand the foundations for effective co-teaching classrooms by focusing on the importance of staff selection, class composition, supporting the instructional shifts required, and maintenance of the program goals.

Supporting the System

Differentiated skill-building support is designed to meet the needs of each co-teaching pair. CEC experts provide on-going, job-embedded support for educators and administrators to provide more one-on-one coaching and mentoring of inclusive practices.
