Mission and Vision

Our Preferred Future is described through mission, vision, core values, organizational, cultural norms, and core work. It is what we aspire to become over the course of living our own strategic plan.

Our Vision

Together, all educators and school leaders can make equitable, inclusive and student-centered large-scale organizational change.

Our Mission

To be the catalyst for collective solutions and innovation in more educational environments.

Our Values

To support our vision and mission, we commit to live these organizational values within our organization and with our partners:

Partnerships

Our roots in labor management collaboration form a foundation where mutually supportive internal and external relationships drive and distinguish our work. We embrace a collaborative culture through best practices of listening, sharing, and growing together to build capacity for ourselves and others.

Continuous Improvement

We commit to utilizing processes that focus on cycles of growth. We embrace self-examination defined as openness, transparency, taking risks, and creating a safe space for voice and change that results in innovation.

Systems Thinking

We work to create effective systems that facilitate collaborative processes and structures. We grow and support leaders and inspire change using evidence-based practices that center equity.

Community

We work to create an engaged community connected through mutual support and respect. It is our collective responsibility to embrace and empower one another in our work to support the whole child.

Effective Communication

We commit to timely, two-way communication that informs but also asks for continuous feedback. In doing so, we engage in open, honest and reflective practice that accomplishes our goals collaboratively.

Accountability

We commit to holding ourselves to high standards of trust, reliability and integrity. In maintaining an environment of open feedback and reflective learning, we promote growth for individuals and systems.

Our Approach

We leverage continuous improvement practices to help educational systems build internal capacities to challenge the status quo within each system’s unique context.

CEC’s Intervention support follows a guiding pathway:

  • Begin with diagnostic assessments of system, school, program, and team assets and challenges to suggest starting points for improvement.
  • Build organizational health through collaborative relationships, voice, agency, and regard for individual differences.
  • Use data and information effectively and efficiently to measure impact, progress monitor, and report results.
  • Reflect through coaching and networking systemic change to ensure sustainability, fidelity of implementation, and exchanges of ideas and resources that accelerates accountability and results.

Our approach is to challenge the status quo by being a forward thinking, proactive, and innovative partner in preparing learners for successful futures.

Working Together to Achieve Success

CEC believes that the conditions for improvement must receive regular attention for any improvement plan to produce results for students. Each unique context needs to be considered and the role of organizational health as a predictor of long-term success critical in any change process.

We customize our support depending upon the needs of our clients. All of our work starts with planning with key stakeholders to explore readiness, then moves to developing outcomes, before finally determining the scope of the work plan. Because ours is an adaptable and agile approach, we often find ourselves developing responses to opportunities that were not initially part of the plan.
