Strategic Advisor

Della Richards, an accomplished professional with a diverse background in administration, school counseling, special education teaching, and curriculum coaching, joined CEC in 2024 as a Strategic Advisor. Specializing in special education, leadership, school counseling, and curriculum coaching, Della brings extensive experience to her role.

She has conducted workshops on special education-related topics for staff and parents, emphasizing policy and procedures. Della is a dedicated lifelong learner, passionate about advocating for diverse learners, fostering parent-school team relationships, and creating conducive learning environments.

Della’s successful career includes roles as a therapeutic school principal, special education administrator, school counselor, PreK-12 general and special education teacher, curriculum coach, new teacher trainer, and adult basic education instructor. She has actively volunteered in various school and district-wide capacities, contributing to union delegation, instructional leadership teams, and parent advisory committees.

Della holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University and has earned three master’s degrees from Concordia University in Educational Leadership, School Counseling, and Urban Education.
