Liz comes to CEC with more than 30 years experience as a teacher, principal, mentor and coach. She has worked in Utah, Naperville 203, Naperville/Aurora 204, and most recently in LaGrange District 105. As a principal in LaGrange, Liz, along with her staff and community, received local and national awards for excellence in education, including the National Blue Ribbon Award. Liz served on the district committee to rewrite the Teacher Appraisal System using the Danielson Framework. She led the mentoring program in District 105 for 11 years, supporting new teachers and administrators.
Liz brings expertise in the areas of creating a positive culture that focuses on students first, mentoring and coaching others to thrive under the continuous improvement model and providing in-house professional development to support the needs and vision of the school. Liz supports administrators and teachers to reach beyond and still maintain a balance and focus.
Liz earned her Illinois Type 75 Administrative Certificate from Aurora University, a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis and a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Utah. She has presented and consulted in the areas of Defining and Using Differentiation, The Gifted Child, Writing, Using Rubrics, Supporting Parents in the School, Using Data, and Setting Goals.
