Since 2011, six national organizations, along with the U.S. Department of Education, have been working together to support labor-management collaboration in states and school districts throughout the country for the advancement of student learning.
The organizations include: AASA, The School Superintendents Association; American Federation of Teachers (AFT); Council of Chief State School Officials (CCSSO); Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS); National Education Association (NEA); and National School Boards Association (NSBA).
CEC has supported the effort, helping organize several conferences and collaborating on a series of documents known as On the Same Page and On the Same Page 2.0.
The original On the Same Page was a tool to support state level agencies and district organizations as they set direction and planned the implementation of college-and-career-ready-standards. On the Same Page 2.0 extends this framework to support educational stakeholders, including district, school, and classroom educators, to deeply implement higher, more rigorous standards systematically and systemically. OTSP 2.0 is a field guide, intended to trigger thought, research, and conversation around effective collaborative practice.
CEC facilitates the use of the OTSP 2.0 Field Guide at the state, district, and school level.
