With a clear vision for action, educators can establish a creative, collaborative school climate that equips students with the 21st century skills necessary to thrive in the connected world through a hands-on session.
Teachers in kindergarten through 8th grade can learn how to create this climate in their classroom through an interactive workshop.
The day will be filled with practical strategies that can immediately be implemented in K-8 classrooms. The workshop will be taught by Meg Ormiston, the author of a series of books about utilizing technology to take instruction to the next level, and Jamie Reilly, a former teacher and administrator who co-authored the series and currently serves as a CEC consultant.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at National Louis University-Lisle, 850 Warrenville Road, Lisle on January 23.
The training will utilize the information and lessons from Ormiston and Reilly’s NOW Classrooms book series. Each participant will leave the session with one of the grade books in the series or the leader’s guide.
This is a practical session that first looks at the learning goal and then on the four power skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity, in order to take instruction and learning to the next level through the use of technology.
- Embrace Creativity
- Effectively Communicate and Collaborate
- Conduct Research and Curate Information
- Think Critically to Solve Problems
- Become Responsible Digital Citizens
- Expand Technology and Coding Concepts
