JL Myers

Consultant

JL Myers holds a BA in Mathematics from Augustana College and a M.S.Ed. in Administration from Northern Illinois University. He served as principal for 25 years at the elementary and junior high/middle school levels in Community Consolidated School District 15, Palatine, Illinois. Six of those years were as principal of a K-­‐8 school with 1400 students. He also worked as an assistant principal (two years) and mathematics/science teacher (5 years). As an administrator, JL participated in the Malcolm Baldrige Award for Excellence in Education and the Lincoln Award of Excellence received by District 15. He served as an on-­‐site evaluator for Lincoln Award applicants.

In semi-­‐retirement, he has worked as a supervisor of student teachers from Western Illinois University and the University of Iowa. During the past eight years, he coached numerous principals for CEC in a variety of northwest suburban school districts. As a coach, JL strives to support and assist new principals as they work with their faculties to maximize student achievement, improve parent and teacher satisfaction, and reach higher levels of personal and professional growth.
